These workshops are designed specifically for the interests and needs of Policy and Decision Makers as well as Community Leaders. The curricula articulates the benefits and challenges associated with the implementation of decentralized renewable energy systems from an economic, environmental, regulatory, social and political perspective.
The VOCTEC program embraces the concept that the sustainability of renewable energy infrastructures in any community is a social issue with a technical component, rather than the other way around. The program designs and delivers customized in-country multi-tier training and educational programs aimed at multiple levels, including short term training for skilled workers, longer term training for educators and engineers, and energy policy workshops aimed at community leaders and policy makers.
These training modules prepare educators and professionals for future practice and delivery of hands-on classroom/online courses in their home countries. Academic classroom sessions are complemented by extensive hands-on work. The educational programs encompass all introductory elements of the Vocational training programs for Skilled Workforce.
VOCTEC’s vocational training programs for operators and technicians focus on installation, operations and maintenance of renewable energy (RE) systems in developing countries. Local operators are mainly concerned with properly operating and maintaining a correctly installed RE system, whereas technicians will additionally be trained in the installation of RE systems.
